ZTE Grand XMax With 6-Inch Display and Android 4.4 KitKat Launched

ZTE on Tuesday announced the Grand XMax phablet priced at $199.99 (approximately Rs. 12,000) on Cricket Wireless in the US, where it will be available starting October 10. There are no further details available for its global release.

The single-SIM ZTE Grand XMax runs Android 4.4 KitKat and features a large 6-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.

The phablet smartphone sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 1-megapixel front-facing camera. The 8GB of inbuilt storage on the Grand XMax is expandable via microSD card (unspecified maximum supported capacity).

Connectivity options on the ZTE Grand XMax include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS/ A-GPS. The 3200mAh battery on the Grand XMax is rated up to 6.5 hours of 3G talk time and 860 hours of standby time. The handset is 7.8mm thick, and weighs 171 grams.

The Chinese manufacturer had last month launched the ZMax with T-Mobile at an event in New York - pegging it as a low-cost large-screen alternative to the iPhone 6 Plus.

The ZTE ZMax offers single SIM support and features a 5.7-inch TFT LCD display with a 720x1280 pixel resolution. It also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) processor powers the device, clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with an Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB of RAM. It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera also onboard. The smartphone comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage, and can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB).
